Little pleasures Monday.

Mondays are rubbish. Now and then, there is a really lovely Monday, yes. Lovely Mondays especially tend to occur in summer or if there’s something special to look forward to. But ordinary, dreary, grey, cold Mondays when you can’t stay in bed… that’s just not a good combination. Today was especially rubbish, mostly because of this:

So I tried to brighten up my day by doing something to change my Monday routine. You know, just do one little thing differently. I was greatly limited by time but I did manage to pop into a new café not far away from where I work for a cup of coffee and some apple strudel.

The places hasn’t been opened for long and I was there at 1pm so I was all alone in there.

Probably the best thing about it is that it’s a non-smoking café. Bonus points for that, definitely.

The coffee was great. The strudel was okay. But I was really disappointed by the whipped cream. I expected real whipped cream, not the stuff that becomes a white, watery mess a couple of minutes after you spritz it on your plate.
