As I might’ve mentioned before, that December Saturday was an amazing day. Blue skies, winter sun… and it got even better in the afternoon because that’s just what winter sun does. I feel so lucky I could’ve been there that day to capture some of my favourite places in London in that beautiful, soft light.

I love this kind of juxtapositions.

New ornaments (2011).

I miss Christmas and I hope that this post can provide some sort of a closure. These are the ornaments we acquired in 2011. Most of them are from London.

This one is so big but it feels like it was made out of angel wings. It’s quite amazing.

There are from The Christmas Shop.

We were so afraid for this one during our flight back home from London! It’s beautiful but really fragile.

I used this one to distract baby Misha. It worked wonders; he was fascinated by the sounds of the tiny little jingle bells.

Carol singers by the Southwark Cathedral. They were amazing. What I really loved about it, though, was the fact that there were so many people hurrying along, but so many of them would just stop and listen for a while — and they would even sing along. It was a very festive and uplifting experience.

My biggest seasonal pet peeve: people saying that Christmas is over the second they unwrap all their presents. Really? Ever heard of the 12 days of Christmas? The Epiphany on January 6th? Meh. Why do people give up on Christmas so quickly, especially after all this build-up?
